PHILOSOPHY

To develop technology for effective control methods in rice and other crop pest constrain to meet cost-effective in rainfed lowland and upland farming system by reducing/minimising yield losses.

APPROACHES

  1. Identify degree of resistant rice variety to potential insect pest such as BPH, gall midge and stem borer.
  2. Characterise the relationship between the potential pests in rice farming and yield losses.
  3. Develop the effective control methods on rat damage in pre and post harvest of the rice crop.
  4. Improve effective control methods with cost-effective implementation on rice and vegetable crop pathology constrains with compatible to current Cambodian socio-economic condition.
  5. Integrate control methods in crop pest constrain to meet cost-effective and safe for human and environmental impact by minimising and properly use of pesticides in farming practices.
