CARDI Publications

  CARDI has been active in publishing books, maps, and other training materials about my aspects of rice reseach and production. More than 30 IRRI publications covering rice agriculture have been translated into khmer,and more than 200,000 copies of these titles have been distributed by CARDI for use in Cambodia.

In addition, six baseline surveys, eight annual research reports, two volumes of a rice germplasm catalogue and a rice production book have been published in English for wider dissemination. Approximately 12,000 copies of these have been prited and circulated.

Video and Audio Tape Production

Fifteen videotapes concerning aspects of rice production have been produced in Khmer. They are regularly screened on national television and are available for distribution to the provinces for training purposes. More than 70 slide-tape modules have also been produced for training purposes.

Map Production

CIAP has published a 1:1,000,000 Rice Ecosystem Map of Cambodia and its provinces, from Landsat TM5 taken in 1989-90, and a Soil Map of Cambodia (1998) with new agronomic soil classification. CIAP has also digitized many available paper maps such as Soils Map of Cambodia (1963), Takeo Land Use Map (1988), Prey Veng Soil Map (1988) and maps of Cambodia showing provincial boundaries.
